First off, tell our Beautie Brownies about yourself! What do you do and where did the inspiration come from to do it?
I’m an Inspirational Explorer and the Founder of Can’t Stay Put, a lifestyle brand that was ignited by my adventures and experiences around the world. Can’t Stay Put is about not being complacent and letting life hold you back but about living fearlessly to create the life you want. I travel the world spreading that gospel to inspire others. At CSP we create content that supports that gospel aimed to educate, spark change and provoke higher level thinking. Because of my background in international travel, we provide our audience with a closer look at the movement around the world—within the people, the culture, the enterprise, the food and nature. The inspiration to do this came from my quarter-life crisis. My 25th year of existence came and my desire for something greater hit its peak. I was frustrated with my life and although I had what would describe as a good life, I wasn’t living a life of purpose. I started to pray and proposed something to God “If you reveal to me what I am supposed to be doing, I promise I will run 100mph towards it.” Just to show God and the universe how serious I was, I put in my notice at work. I quit my job and treated myself to a trip to Maui, my version of EAT, PRAY, LOVE. While trekking through a bamboo forest, I had the a-ha moment I had been waiting on… my inner voice said “You need to figure out how to do this.” I was like huh? Again, “You need to figure out to do this, inspire people through your experiences.” And then I thought about my life. It wasn’t a coincidence that I started flying by myself at 5, averaging 7-10 so flights a year due to having parents that lived in separate states. I had been exposed to international travel at a young age too. My mother would buy me workbooks that required me to explore cities. Travel and the natural curiosity for the unknown was something that was specific to me. It was at that moment that I realized I needed to make something out of. I flew back to California, gave up my apartment, met with a life coach who said “Lauren you are an experienced traveler, but the world doesn’t know it, you need to brand yourself as that.” That night I started the CSP website, planned my launch that required me to send out proposals to raise money that would cover the first official CSP trip. I raised $8,000 and traveled to Southeast Asia for a month. I’ve been building the brand ever since.
Do you experience any difficulty being a Beautie Brownie ? If so did you have any particular experiences, could you share them with us?
I wouldn’t say difficulty but I definitely experience challenges throughout my journey. One of the challenges I face is time management and the feeling that I’m being left behind. We live in such a face-paced world that you feel like you are in this crazy race but then you realize that everyone is on their own timeline and at the end of day, what is for you is for you and it won’t pass you by.
What has motivated you to keep going despite those difficulties?
My faith, Knowing that if I continue to walk in my purpose I will be blessed beyond measure.
What benefits have you experienced from persevering as a Beautie Brownie, despite all the stereotypes and negativity that exists in society?
I live a purposeful life. People thought my dreams and vision were a joke. That is what typically happens when you decide to do something out the norm. I wake up with purpose and I am so grateful. That has to be the greatest benefit.
If you could sum it all up in one sentence, what advice would you give other Beautie Brownies who are aspiring to become inspirational explorer such as yourself?Stay true to who you are and work damn hard to see your vision through!
Bonus Question:
What's the first song you listen to in the morning that gets you pumped up and ready to face the day?
