Beyonce Slays Again! With Major Brownie Power!

Queen Bey has done it again! This past Saturday, she dropped a surprise music video for her new single "Formation". Now, we're not surprised that she absolutely killed it, but we are especially impressed because the lyrics and the video are so unapologetically BLACK. It was so refreshing and motivating to see a music video so infused with black culture and representation. We love the hot sauce, collard greens, corn bread and baby hair references, just to mention a few. She also addresses the state of New Orleans after Katrina, and also the epidemic of police brutality. The imagery is just absolutely invigorating. What we loved the most is that all her girls were MAJOR Beautie Brownie's. It's been quite a while since we saw so much brown in one music video.

Here's the full video:

Is it possible to love her more? We didn't think so. Then she performs during Superbowl half-time. Let's just talk about all the Black excellence on that field. She used the most watched show to air on Television this Sunday to strut her stuff along with a line of Beautie Brownies (just as in her Formation music video) in afros and all black attire, looking like a page ripped from the Black Panther's handbook. And by no coincidence. Beyonce's dancers were dressed in black berets at Superbowl 50 paying homage to the Black Panthers 50 years after their formation in 1966.

If that wasn't enough, right after during commercials, she announced the Formation World Tour.

Thanks Beyonce, for snatching our edges yet again, while reminding us how fly it is to be black.
